Above and below London develops, extends and expands and MBP has engineered developments and extensions to a range of buildings across the city to promote, advance and enable that. Building over existing roofs engages existing airights to create new accommodation but demands and necessitates  light and agile construction developed around access and buildability, often with works that will not impact on the occupants below.

MBP has developed, designed & detailed rooftop extensions using simple timber construction assembled on site from stock materials; off-site, pre-fabricated & often completed rooms craned-in to place and new over-arching structures that suspends the new construction over existing construction between loadpaths established to foundations. MBP uses and determines qualitative and quantitative methods to determine the viability of these developments and the construction options that best delivers the build solutions along with digital modelling to coordinate the fabrication and interfaces.​
