Current vacancy:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered or near Chartered Structural Engineer to join our team. Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant permanent or temporary works design experience. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and overseeing the construction of structures such as buildings and other infrastructure projects. You will work closely with architects, construction teams, and other engineers to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities: 
• Develop structural engineering schemes and detailed proposals to current standards
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and construction managers during all phases of the project
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Conduct structural assessments and inspections of existing structures and boundary conditions
• Manage design processes for projects to programme and budget
• Represent the practice at meetings and on site / review construction progress and resolve design-related issues on-site.
• Review and comment on work by others
• Conduct feasibility studies to enable others to prepare cost estimates for structural schemes
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies and best practices. Contribute to our in house knowledge sharing and CPD


Qualifications:
• Bachelor's / MEng degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as, Robot, ETABS or similar.
• Familiarity with CAD and BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong understanding of building codes, standards and construction methods together with a good understanding of the engineering principles
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.


Requirements / Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of sustainable and resilient design principles.
• Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
• Applicants must currently live in the UK and have a UK passport or a valid work visa
• Applicants to have good written and spoken English together with a minimum 2:1 degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
